Jonathan Jemison Earns UAA Men's Tennis Honor

Emory senior Jonathan Jemison (Marietta, GA) has been recognized by the University Athletic Association as Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week after helping the Eagles to a 2-1 record over a three-match stretch.  It is the third time during the 2018-19 campaign and 10th occasion in his career that he has received the honor.

Jemison went 1-1 at No. 1 singles with his win coming over Georgia Gwinnett College's (#1 ranked team in NAIA) Ayed Zatar, 6-2, 6-2. The victory upped Jemison's season record to 8-2 and raised his career win total to 81, tying him with Alex Ruderman (2011-15) for 10th place on the school's all-time ladder.

In doubles, Jemison teamed with Adrien Bouchet to record a 3-0 slate at the No. 1 spot. Highlighting the duo's effort with an 8-6 verdict over Georgia Gwinnett's tandem of Valentino Caratini and Zatar.

Jemison and his teammates return to action this weekend (Feb. 22-24) when they look to defend Emory's title at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.
