Junior center fielder Sarah Flanders helped the Emory softball team to a split of a season-opening doubleheader against Birmingham Southern.
Flanders hit .667 with four hits in six trips to the plate. She scored a team-high three runs and finished with one RBI.
In the opening game, she doubled in the team's first run of the contest and later scored the Eagles' second run. In the nightcap, she went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored twice, including the game-winning tally in the bottom of the first in an eventual 5-0 triumph.
