Emory University junior Blair Ripley was named the University Athletic Association Co-Athlete of the Week for her performance against Sewanee on November 26th. It is the first weekly award for the Oak Park, IL native in her career.
Ripley tallied a career-high 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting as the Eagles improved to 5-1 with a 22-point win at Sewanee, 68-46. It was the third double digit scoring effort for the 6-1 center this season and the eighth of her career. She added a season-high 11 rebounds in the victory to collect her first double-double of the year to go along with a game-high three blocks.
For the season, Ripley is third on the team with an average of 11.3 points while shooting at a 52.7 percent clip while adding 5.3 rebounds per game and team-high 10 blocks.
Ripley and the Eagles return to the court Tuesday night (Dec. 2) as they take on crosstown foe Oglethorpe University. Tip-off from Brookhaven is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
