Rising senior Danielle Darius of the Emory University Women's Soccer program has been invited to the national training camp of the Haitian Women's Soccer team in hopes of joining the U-20 National Team that has qualified for the 2018 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The national training camp will run from Tuesday, May 8th through Sunday, May 13th in Haiti. The U-20 World Cup is slated to begin on August 5th in France and run through August 24th. Haiti, which will be making its first-ever Women's U20 World Cup appearance, is one of 16 countries to qualify for the tournament.
Darius is coming off a junior campaign in which she was named to the All-University Athletic Association Second Team after registering a career-high tying three goals and one assist for seven points. She was the lone Eagle to make all 18 starts on the year, anchoring an Emory backline that held opponents to three shots or fewer in seven games and recorded nine shutouts on the season.
