Freshman Maggie Rimmel helped the No. 4-ranked Emory volleyball team to a 3-0 record against South Region opponents.
The 6-foot Rimmel played in eight of the Eagles' nine sets and averaged 1.62 kills and 0.65 blocks per game. In addition, she doled out five service aces as Emory closed out the week with an overall slate of 17-2.
One of her outings saw her rank second on the team with seven terminations while hitting a blazing .455 (7-2--11) in a 3-0 verdict over Oglethorpe. In addition, she came up with two (0-2) blocks against the Stormy Petrels.
So far this season, Maggie has seen action in 44 of the team's 65 sets and is averaging 1.23 kills and 0.73 blocks per set.
